While all governments since independence have undertaken various Policy initiatives for job creation and growth, none have managed an integrated across-the-socio-economic-spectrum thinking and perspective that is so required and is so essential for the macro-planning on job creation, and indeed, protection.
That surely is the job of any government who works for the people and functions in their domain. Jobs as a means of livelihoods, are interwoven in the very fabric and DNA of society. It is the government’s job to keep an eye on all developments in the private sector, especially in the tech being rolled out, and their impact on job creation or destruction, and to take policy measures to ensure that society adjusts and moves on within some protection of reeducation, redeployment etc.
Almost every area of policy discussed in this document has job creation and protection weaving through the entire narrative.
